While much of the west coast is getting hammered by storms, this Monday morning here in the Las Vegas Valley, it’s snowing. Measureable snow, too. The National Weather Service is expecting between 3 to 4 inches where we’re at (3,000 ft. elev.) From the Las Vegas Review-Journal:

Storm brings snow to Mount Charleston, Las Vegas Valley floor
A winter storm has dumped more than 8 inches of snow on Mount Charleston, the National Weather Service said this morning.
Snow has also fallen on lower elevations, including the foothills west of Summerlin.
Interstate 15, the main route connecting Las Vegas to Southern California, was closed by heavy snow in the mountainous Cajon Pass east of Los Angeles.
Forecasters predicted accumulations of between 3 and 5 inches in the far western areas of the Las Vegas Valley.

Rodger — I hope you enjoy the snow. I’m a Northerner gone South, and boy do I miss the snow. Even the cold is okay. Just to have those seasons — the extremes, you know?
Peace,
Geoff

I’ve never seen such a hard-boiled writer get so excited over a few snowflakes. He’s out there right now with his disposable camera.
The snowflakes are fluffy and big. A nice postcard day here in Vegas.

Well, it is exciting; measureable snow sticking to the ground in December in Las Vegas. Almost makes our momentary detour to Nevada worth the effort.

Hurricane Shirley’s first comment was a good chuckle at your expense, Rodger!
